I thought I'd update you guys on whats been happening in my life ATM (and my reasons for no artwork in about 3+ months).
First off I apologise in advance that I wont be uploading any "art" (per se), into the forseeable future, Im even doubtful I'll have something done by the time I hit 10000 views (which is fast approaching so thanks for that
) so again I apologise.
So whats eating up my time you ask? University for the short simple answer. However the course Im on involves creating/designing/programming video games, and so I can at least offer you guys something else. As soon as I have working prototypes that im happy with finished I'll pop some of them up onto my deviant art account and/or my mediafire account.
So what games can I offer. Well before I tell you, bare in mind that the games are very simple games so don't expect masterpieces (yet!
), they are very short and sweet but they are enjoyable (to me
) and I hope there will be something you will be interested in.
First up is: Sue Doh Que
Objective of the game: Cmon everyone knows how to play sudoku right. If you dont, the challenge is to fill a 9x9 grids rows and columns and 3x3 minigrids that form up the grid ( there are 9 3x3 minigrids in total) with the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9 without repeating any of the numbers in the each individual row, column and 3x3 grid. Google will probably have a better description than I've offered here
Description of game
A simple sudoku game. Theres bundle of features that allow you to solve grids pretty much instantaneously (how does less than 3 secs sound
) (using a brute force algorithm if you're interested in that stuff ( I am! )
) Notifications if the number you've put in is wrong, hints, multiple puzzles with the ability to play your own puzzles or ones you've downloaded from the internet at any time, simple navigation and entering of numbers and saving your current progress to a file.
Game made using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. Written in C++.
Next up is: Robot Zombies
Objective of the game: Survive as long as possible against waves of evil zombie robots (
) using your weapons and upgrades.
Description of game: If you've played Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies, and you've played dead ops arcade, thats basically my game in a nut shell only with a few more features
. Multiple weapons, upgrades to your weapons, powerups (such as nukes, shields, extra lives etc etc) upgrades to your character ( faster movement, EMP's) and as standard with most wave based survival games progressively stronger and faster enemies. Health is recovered via pickups that appear at random and can only be collected using a special beam weapon
Game made using Adobe Flash CS3. Written in Flash Actionscript 2.
Finally is: Braekout
Objective of the game: Destroy all blocks on a particular level, by hitting a ball with a bat that can only move along the x axis all while preventing the ball from dropping below your pad (google breakout if your still not sure but Im certain everyone knows what breakout is. Think pong but with lots of bats.)
Description of the game: This game is for your Nintendo Gameboy Advance. I will work on any GBA (GBA, GBA SP) and the original DS (the Phat DS
) but if you don't have one of these, there are plenty of GBA emulators for free online, I'll even include one with the game if/when I upload it. This game will be the simplest of the lot (GBA programming is hard work and a time consuming pain in the ass
) but you can play it on your GBA, whats not to like (personally the fact that I've made something that would work on any GBA is awesome enough
!) The ball will move at 45 degree angles (well at least for now) and the collision detection is a little suspect but its a very simple game and is still playable.
Game made using VisualHAM. Written in C/C++ (works in C but coded using a C++ IDE)
